Las familias Glossograptidae, Dicranograptidae y Orthograptidae (Graptolithina) en el Ordovícico Superior de la Formación Empozada, provincia de Mendoza, Argentina
Abstract
Resumen. Se presenta la revisión taxonómica de una parte de la colección de graptolitos efectuada por Rusconi depositada en el Museo de Ciencias Naturales y Antropológicas “Juan Cornelio Moyano” de Mendoza, Argentina. Los especímenes de glossográptidos, dicranográptidos, leptográptidos y ortográptidos incluidos en este trabajo fueron coleccionados por Carlos Rusconi durante las décadas de 1940 y 1950 en la Formación Empozada, en el área de San Isidro, Precordillera mendocina. Este material ha sido comparado con especímenes de la misma unidad coleccionados por los autores. Los holotipos y paratipos de doce de las especies descriptas por Rusconi fueron examinados y asignados a Glossograptus ciliatus Emmons, Cryptograptus tricornis (Carruthers), Dicranograptus ramosus cf. spinifer Elles y Wood, D. nicholsoni nicholsoni Hopkinson. Además, se describen Glossograptus fimbriatus (Hopkinson), Leptograptus cf. L. validus Elles y Wood y Orthograptus ex gr. calcaratus (Lapworth). Abstract. THE FAMILIES GLOSSOGRAPTIDAE, ORTHOGRAPTIDAE AND DICRANOGRAPTIDAE (GRAPTOLITHINA) FROM THE LATEORDOVICIAN OF THE EMPOZADA FORMATION, MENDOZA PROVINCE, ARGENTINA. This paper deals with the taxonomic revision of some graptolite groups from the Rusconi collection housed in the “Juan Cornelio Moyano” Natural and Anthropological Sciences Museum of Mendoza, Argentina. Glossograptid, dicranograptid, leptograptid and orthograptid specimens included in this paper were collected by Carlos Rusconi during the 1940´s and 1950´s from the Empozada Formation, located in the San Isidro area, Mendoza Precordillera. This material was compared with specimens from the same unit collected by the authors. The holotypes and paratypes of twelve nominal species described by Rusconi were examined and reassigned to Glossograptus ciliatus Emmons, Cryptograptus tricornis (Carruthers), Dicranograptus ramosus cf. spinifer Elles and Wood, D. nicholsoni nicholsoni Hopkinson. Moreover, Glossograptus fimbriatus (Hopkinson), Leptograptus cf. L. validus Elles and Wood and Orthograptus ex gr. calcaratus (Lapworth) are described.Downloads
