Pteridospermas triásicas del Norte Chico de Chile
Abstract
The Corystospermaceae and Peltaspermaceae from three Upper Triassic formations from the following areas of northern Chile are presented: area of Cerro La Ternera (localities: Quebrada La Cachivarita, Quebrada El Carbón and Quebrada El Carbón road to Mina La Chilca, La Ternera Formation); area of Vicuña (east of La Serena) (locality: Punta del Viento, Las Breas Formation) and area of Los Molles (locality: Bahía de los Lobos, El Puquén Formation). They comprise the following taxa: Family Corystospermaceae: Dicroidium hernandezii nov. sp., Dicroidium argenteum (Retallack) Gnaedinger comb. nov., D. crassum (Menéndez) Petriella, D. dubium (Feistmantel) Gothan, D. lancifolium (Morris) Gothan, D. obtusifolium (johnston) Townrow, D. odontopteroides (Morris) Gothan, Johnstonia dutoitii (Townrow) Retallack, Xylopteris argentina (Kurtz) Frenguelli emend. Stipanicic and Bonetti, and cf. Zuberia sp. Family Peltaspermaceae: Lepidopteris madagascariensis (Carpentier) Townrow and L. stormbergensis (Seward) Townrow. Finally, a few comments are made on the pteridosperm association of these floras.Downloads
