Leños pérmicos de la Formación Yaguarí, República Oriental del Uruguay
Abstract
Four gymnosperm wood taxa from the Upper Permian Yaguarí Formation from several localities between Melo and Frayle Muerto, Department of Cerro Largo, Uruguay, are described. References to Araucarioxylon and Baieroxylon are based on typical characters of their secondary wood. Barakaroxylon, a widely distributed genus in Gondwana and a new species Bageopitys herbstii , are described and illustrated based on rather complete specimens. All these Paleozoic woods are common in different parts of Gondwana, viz., Brazil, Uruguay, South Africa, India and Australia.Downloads
