Abstract

"In the present paper the anatomical study of fossil woods frorn the Melo Formation allows to elaborate palaeoclimatic, palaeoecologic, systematic and palaeophytogeographic considerations. Xylological studies ha ve allowed to relation Melo Formation asociation with diaphragm - solenoid biozone originally defined from Brazil. Similarities eusteles have been recognized from Barakar, White Band, Raniganj, Rio Bonito and Irati Formations. "
