Abstract

"En el Paleozoico temprano de la Sierra de Cajas (provincia de Jujuy) se han iden ti ficado dos nuevas especies de Rostroconchia: Ribeiria jrancae n. sp., procedente de niveles del Carnbrico superior de la Formación Lampazar y Eopteria agustini n. sp., proveniente del Tremadociano temprano de la Formación Cardona!. El género Ribeiria (Orden Ribeirioida) se conoce desde el Cámbrico medio y Eopieria, un primitivo Conocardioida, está registrado desde el Cámbrico superior. Las nuevas especies definidas en este trabajo representan los más antiguos rostroconchos identificados en el oeste de Gondwana."
