Abstract

Ostracods recovered from cuttings samples of the YPFSC.ALEP e-2 (Laguna El Palo) borehole, drilled in the southeast of the Argentinian part of the Austral Basin in Santa Cruz Province are described and illustrated. The microfauna comprises a total of thirty species and it shows affinitties with contemporary South African and Australian faunas. This fauna confirms an Albian age for these sediments of the Palermo Aike Formation.
