ESTUDIOS PALINOLÓGICOS DE LA FORMACIÓN BAQUERÓ (CRETÁCICO), PROVINCIA DE SANTA CRUZ, ARGENTINA. VIII
Abstract
Spores ofthe Turma Triletes (Reinsch) Dettmann 1963 and MonoJetes Ibrahim 1933 are described. Within the Turma Triletes species of the genera Auritulinasporites, Concavisporites, Obtusisporis, Rotverrusporites, Reticulatisporites, Retitriletes, Cibotiidites, Muricingulisporis and vallizonosporites have been studied. Within the Turma MonoJetes species of the genera Laevigatosporites, Microfoveolatosporis, Polypodiidites and Tuberculatosporites were also studied. The folIowing taxa are new: Rotverrusporites labra tus sp. nov., Reticulatisporites ornatus sp. nov., Retitriletes baqueroense sp. nov., Cibotiidites auriculatus sp. nov. and Vallizonosporites spinosus sp. nov. Comparisons with extant pteridophyte spores are made. The affinitiesfound between fossiJ and extant spores suggest that the Baqueró Formation developed in a humid and temperate to warm climateduring the Lower Cretaceous.Downloads
