CHAROPHYTA y OSTRACODA ASOCIADOS DE CUATRO LOCALIDADES HOLOCENAS DE ARGENTINA: EVIDENCIAS PALEOAMBIENTALES
Abstract
Chara vulgaris Linnaeus, Chara cf. hispida var. major (Hartman) Wood, Chara cf. papillosa Kützing, Chara cf. globularis Thuillier, Tolypella intricata varo apiculata (Braun) Wood gyrogonites and Nitella clavata Kützing oospores are described and illustrated. Ostracods, molluscs, macrophytes and fish remains are also registered. Samples were collected from four Holocene localities from Argentina located in the provinces of Buenos Aires, San Luis and San Juan. The recognized associations are characteristic of fresh to subsaline environments (0.0-3.0 g L.'), tolerating the species belonging to Chara hyposaline waters (5.0-20.0 g L"). Other factors such as pH, water energy, bottom characteristics and depth are also discussed.Downloads
