PLANTAS DEL CARBONÍFERO SUPERIOR EN LA FORMACIÓN PUNILLA, PAMPA DE LAS PELADAS, PRECORDILLERA SEPTENTRIONAL DE SAN JUAN - LA RIOJA
Abstract
Fragments of Malanzania nana and Botrichyopsis sp. cf. B. weissiana were found in the upper section of the Punilla Formation in the northem Precordillera. Based on the occurrence of taxa associated to the palaeofloristic Zones NBG and Intervalo on northwestem Argentina, an early Late Carboniferous age is suggested for the upper part of the Punilla Formation. It is also concIuded, from palaeobotanical evidences, that this units extends in age from the Late Devonian through the early late Carboniferous, being overlain unconformably by the Paganzo Group.Downloads
