Abstract

A systematic study of a fossil flora found in the Tramojo Formation (late Paleozoic), Uspallata area, Mendoza Province, is presented. The assemblage is composed by impressiones of Paracalamites australis, Nothorhacopteris argentinica, Fedekurtzia argentina (with associated fructifications) and Botrychiopsis sp. These taxa suggest a correlation with the zone NBG (Nothorhacopteris - Botrychiopsis - Ginkgophyllum) of the Paganzo basin, that was dated in the late rniddle Carboniferous - early upper Carboniferous. Brief geological and palaeoecological considerations are also made.
