CATALOGO CRITICO DE LOS TINAMIDAE (AVES: TINAMIFORMES) FOSILES DE LA REPUBLICA ARGENTINA
Abstract
The argentine Tinamidae fossil taxa are listed, as far as the specific level. The following data are included: 1) sistematic position, type of remain, place and collection number, 2) environmental requirements, habitat and present geographical distribution of the neospecies; and 3) bibliographical references and sinonirny of the fossil species. It can be pointed that: a) the oldest record of Tinamidae is from later Miocene of La Pampa, República Argentina; b) three genus and six species are registered to the present; e) No/hura paludosa is a Tinamidae wich specific and generic assignation should be verified, and d) the Tinamidae had a brazilian genocenter in the early Tertiary.Downloads
