MEDULLOPITYS MENENDEZIl N. SP., LEÑO PICNOXILICO DE GIMNOSPERMAS DEL PALEOZOICO SUPERIOR DE MENDOZA, ARGENTINA
Abstract
Medullopitys menendezii N. SP., PYCNOXYLIC GYMNOSPERMOUS WOOD FROM THE UPPER PALAOZOIC OF MENDOZA, ARGENTINA. - In this paper the structure of a new species of Medullopitys Krausel is described. The medule in heterocellular, non septate, the primary xylern ís endarch and the secondary wood is consídered a Protophyllocladoxylon type with 2-4 simple pitted cross-helds. Medullopitys menendezii n. sp. has a Gondwanic distribution and the same stratigraphic range (Upper Palaeozoic) as the genus Medullopitys in general.Downloads
