Trilobites de la Formación San Juan, Precordillera Argentina: Pliomeridae Raymond, 1913
Abstract
Resumen. Se presenta una revisión de los trilobites plioméridos de la Formación San Juan, Precordillera Argentina. Ésta incluye una nueva diagnosis para el género Benedettia Toro y Monaldi, el cual es ubicado en la Subfamilia Cybelopsinae Fortey. Además, Encrinurus? niquivilensis Harrington y Leanza y Benedettia huaquensis Toro y Monaldi son considerados sinónimos. Dos nuevas especies son dadas a conocer: Benedettiamargaritaen. sp. y Pliomerinasanjuaninan. sp. Esta última, por su particular pigidio, se distingue claramente de las especies conocidas del género pangondwánico PliomerinaChugaeva. Abstract. It includes a new diagnosis for the genus Benedettia Toro and Monaldi, which is further included within the Subfamily Cybelopsinae Fortey. Besides, Encrinurus? niquivilensis Harrington and Leanza and Benedettia huaquensisToro and Monaldi are regarded as synonyms. Two new species: B. margaritae(Early Arenig) and Pliomerina sanjuanina (Early Llanvirn) are recognized. The latter is clearly distinguished among the pangondwanic species of the trilobite Pliomerina Chugaeva by its unusual pygidium.Downloads
