Abstract

Several microphytolith classifications have been proposed by different authors, treating them as isolated entities (parataxonomy) or subordinated to taxonomic categories of living plants (ortotaxonomy). All these c\assifications are analyzed in this paper and some guides of a new methodology for description of microphytoliths are presented.
