PALEOMICROPLANCTON DEL CRETACICO INFERIOR EN EL SUBSUELO DEL SUDOESTE DE LA PROVINCIA DEL CHUBUT
Abstract
A study of Dinoflagellate cysts of Lower Cretaceous age is presented. The material has been recovered from cuttings of the borehole Union Oil Os-1, Located SW of Chubut Province. The following taxa are described: Spiniferites ramosus var. ramosus (Davey and Williams) Sarjeant, Gonyaulacysta globosa Brideaux, Oligosphaeridium pulcherrimum (Deflandre and Cookson) Davey and Williarns, Hystrichosphaeridíum cf. tubiferum (Ehrenberg) Deflandre and Muderongia cf. staurota Sarjeant. All are recorded for the first time in Argentina. The known stratigraphic distribution of these species suggests that the age of the studied sediments is not older than Upper Hauterivian and not younger than Upper Aptian. These data agree with other palynological results based on the pollen assemblage found in the sarne beds.Downloads
