NOTAS SOBRE LOS DASYPODIDAE (MAMMALIA, EDENTATA) DEL PLIOCENO DEL TERRITORIO ARGENTINO I. LOS RESTOS DE EDAD CHASIQUENSE (PLIOCENO INFERIOR) DEL SUR DE LA PROVINCIA DE BUENOS AIRES
Abstract
The Dasypodidae from "Arroyo Chasicó" Formation (Lower Pliocene) of the SW Buenos Aires Province (Argentina) are analyzed. Two new taxa are described: †Vetelia perforata n. sp. and †Chasicotatus arneghinoi n. gen., n. sp. During the Pliocene the pampean region had a relatively important biogeographical connection with the "Dominio Subtropical". The subsequent climatic retractions are the cause of the present time biogeographical distribution.Downloads
