Abstract

The Dasypodidae from "Arroyo Chasicó" Formation (Lower Pliocene) of the SW Buenos Aires Province (Argentina) are analyzed. Two new taxa are described: †Vetelia perforata n. sp. and †Chasicotatus arneghinoi n. gen., n. sp. During the Pliocene the pampean region had a relatively important biogeographical connection with the "Dominio Subtropical". The subsequent climatic retractions are the cause of the present time biogeographical distribution.
