"LA FAUNA DE LA FORMACION DEL SALTO (PALEOZOICO SUPERIOR DE LA PROVINCIA DE SAN JUAN)
Abstract
The Del Salto Formation is a predominantly epiclastic sequence, with minor tuffaceous intercalations. Six members are distinguished by their textural and compositional characteristics. Seven different horizons with marine faunas have been found, only one of them being previously known. A geological sketch map comprising the neighbourhoods of the fossiliferous outcrops is also given. Besides, additional plant remains are recorded from the Del Ratón Formation, confirming its correlation with the Malimán Formation (Early Carboniferous age).Downloads
