NOTAS SOBRE LA FLORA FOSIL DE LA ZONA DE TICO, PROVINCIA DE SANTA CRUZ
Abstract
During the year 1958, a rich Paleozoic Flora was discovered in Tico, a new locality of Santa Cruz Province. The plants are preserved as impressions and mummifactions. This Formation is lythologically and palaeontologically comparable with the typical section described at Punta del Barco, 20 Km SE from Tico. It is here proposed to name it Formacion Baquero, its age being probably Lower Cretaceous or Upper Jurassic. Although some material has been already studied, many species are still undescribed; these, will appear in subsequent contributions. The first note deals with Cladophlebis tripinnata n. sp. and some isolated sporangia, found in the same slabs, which are of a leptosporangiate type. C. tripinnata is compared with all known species of the genus found in Argentina, as well as with some similar taxa from exotic floras.Downloads
