Abstract

The present paper, is a study on male cones of fossil Coniferae wluch was collected in the Cerro Alto (47° 46' S. lat. and 68° 40' long. W.) from the petrified forest of Santa Cruz of upper or middle Jurassic age. The systematic position of this male cone, Masculostrobus altoensis sp. nov., is uncertain, and the author discusses the probable affinities with the genus of the living fossil conifers.
