Abstract

Spores of the Infraturma Laevigati and Apiculati (Potonié, 1956) are described. They belong to the genera Leiotriletes, Cyathidites, Deltoidospora, Biretisporites, Calamospora, Leptolepidites, Osmundacidites, Baculatisporites. Neoraistrickia, Ceratosporites, Verrucosisporites and Rugulatisporites . Most species are related lo lacustrine and fluviatile sedimentary facies. Affinities with extant Pteridophyte families are suggested, especially the HymenophyIlaceae, Selaginellaceae, Equisetaceae, Osmundaceae, Cyatheaceae and Dennstaedtiaceae. These affinities suggest a humid and temperate to warm climate during the earliest times of deposition of the Baqueró Formation.
